12 New Year's Resolutions To Add To Your List + How To Achieve Them


Happy New Year! This is the time of year where you can really think of the things you want to achieve, and set goals and resolutions. I sometimes find it can be difficult to come up with resolutions, and you may too. So, here is a list of 12 ideas to get you started! 


1. Stop Procrastinating. It's hard. It's hard to avoid, and hard to stop. But, it's getting in the way of many things. Create a to do list, get the hard stuff done first, remove all distractions and be motivated.

2. Stop Stressing. This ones pretty self explanatory. Find ways that help you reduce stress. Try doing yoga, or meditating, listen to music, laugh, exercise, take a walk or talk about it.

3. Spend Less Time On Phone. We say this all the time, but it doesn't actually happen. Turn it off- for good- for an hour a day. Or delete all your social media during the week. Put it in another room during the night or when you're studying/doing homework. Turn off your ringtone so when people text you you don't grab your phone to read it.

4. Learn A New Language. Can be useful. You could join a class, or go for the more simpler option... Google Translate. (I'm joking, thats probably not the best way. But you can learn basic words on the internet, from sites such as this one.)

5. Be More Organised. Buy a diary, calendar or use your phone to note in important dates. Write things down, keep your room tidy and colour code/label books etc.

6. Learn To Love Yourself. Stop judging yourself, or doubting yourself, or comparing yourself. We are who we are, and a good resolution may be just to accept that. Forget any negative things about yourself and focus on the positives, and forget perfectionism, because theres no such thing.

7. Start a Youtube Channel/ Blog/ Instagram Account. It'll be fun! + it's pretty easy to do.

8. Drink More Water. If you're like me, you may drink zilch water. I'm currently aiming at a litre a day, and I'm doing this by buying a drink bottle I like, putting it in the fridge/using ice blocks, and having it next to me at night. 

9. Stop Worrying What People Think Of You. It's hard, I know, because you just want to impress everyone. A good thing to remember is that they're probably not thinking of you as much as you think they might be. 

10. Go For A Walk Everyday. This is one of mine, and its pretty easy to do. Listen to music and get walking gear that you want to wear.

11. Be More Positive. Positivity = Happiness. Here are some ways to be more positive.

12. Read More. Sometimes we don't have the time... or so we say. Join a book club (you can also find some online), get a library membership or find lists of recommended books.
